WebDec 3, 2014 · Most people treat ich like Doctors treat people. They tend to only treat the symptoms. Like Mark said most all the “reef safe” treatments are snake oil. The only true way to cure it is to remove the affected fish and or all the fish treat them with copper in a hospital tank and let the ich run its cycle in the tank. WebIch is a parasite that can infect any fish in your reef tank. In order to keep them alive, happy and thriving, you have to take care of the issue quickly. But, if there are invertebrates like snails crabs, shrimp and crayfish, you can’t use the usual copper-based commercial remedies. This will kill the invertebrates.
